Ramkumar came visiting (to work on the project). It's complete now but for some finishing touches. So we took some time off to play PC games (FIFA) instead. It's a multi-million dollar research backed relaxation technique…and we figured since we already had 2 machines on the network, what the heck! Ram, the football playing, crazy chelsea fan (whose adidas studs got thrown away as garbage on mini-seashore by his painter) against Adi, who's lucky to guess apart a football from a basketball.
ManU vs Chelsea (names are changed to protect identity)… X passes the ball to Y, Y passes it to X, X to Y to X to Y…to Z…Can he get the cross right? He does, and score! I was laying out a pretty good strategy for the rest of the game (keep passing the ball till the end…if he tries to get near, tackle the player, break a leg or something, or verbally abuse ram to divert his attention…
)
He got the ball anyhow…Pass and goal! Ouchie… After quite a few fouls, throw ins and free kicks…another goal! ManU beats Chelsea, 2-1…hohohahaha…
We were gonna fight it out once more, but got interrupted by the Istriwala and Water (pani bharna padta hai using a multitude of on-off switches). I had to get back to studies after that, but another game's scheduled for tomorrow. Hopefully, will bag the tourney and score with my goalkeeper then.

Noticed a bunch of books way down the pile which turned out to be journals. And I had to show these to my professors in 4 days. That, boys and girls, put to test my writing (…??) and my PR skills (oohh puhhleease koi assignment likh do…chocolate dunga!!)
Then, there was the project module. I had to find a phone which supported AT commands (finally found my brother's old Nokia 8310 and got it fixed). I searched a few shops for the data cable, but gave up soon enough.
me: data cable chahiye phone ka
shopkeeper: milega na sir, kaunsa chaahiye bas bolo…
me: iss phone ke liye *whipping out my 8310 in style*
shopkeeper: *looks at the phone, entranced…*
shopkeeper: *still looking…*
me: are milta hai ya nahi?
shopkeeper: haanji sir, mil jaata aapko…8 saal pehle *wicked smile*
me: *$&#(*$!
Finally deciding to use IRDA, I found out that Compaq notebooks provide a Consumer IR (only used for their remote control), so got another notebook which supported the 8310 range. Next, found out that VB6 Comm Control needs updated drivers (which was impossible as they stopped manufacturing years ago). Downloaded IR2COM and it works great now.
Just when I thought things could only get better, I had to write 5 university papers and submit them the coming week. Short time, and then they complain about not being able to decipher your handwriting…Sheesh!

Am actually getting older with each passing day…within a few years, my skin's gonna get wrinkly and my hair all white…but god knows I've never felt this attached to any 'institute of learning' in my whole life…this poem's dedicated to my friends at Terna…
College ka woh pehla din
tha suna sa saya
Dar ki thi na koi gunjaish
fir bhi class mei na baith paya
Hui canteen mei mulaquaat
already lagi thi sabki vaat
Declare hui, list woh black
kaha agle sem mei, we'll be back!
Kardiya us ladki ko elaan
chakkar mei woh ho gayi hairaan
Boyfriend nikla senior, 2 saal
mili mujhe didi ek aur baar
Fest ke din hue the talli janab
nimbu pani samajh kar pi thi sharab
karne laga harqate badi begani
jab tak na mila ek fight, aur piya dher saara pani
Woh saal, woh din na bhule kabhi
new york, london, lower parel mei bikhre sabhi
Baatein, woh purani yaadein
koi poochein toh hum yeh batatein…

I was gonna submit this as a proposal for Summer of Code, but the deadline expired before that. So here it is… am thinking of a plugin which when enabled on wordpress powered blogs would track user's posts through their RSS feeds. This will open up the user's posts for the world to see and could be accessed through a central website (probably wordpress.org).
A step forward would be having the user pinpoint his/her location on Google Maps. The post updates could then be displayed geographically instead of pure text, something like Twittervision.
This will provide a platform for people writing on wordpress powered blogs, and also see what's on people's minds, categorized geographically.
